  • Ugo Nonis, born in 1977 in Paris, France, is a contemporary painter based in Los Angeles, United States of America. Ugo is renowned for his abstract graphic tableaus executed in vivid colors, primarily working with acrylic and oil on canvas. His work is distinctly characterized by depictions of the computer screen in various forms, including dot pixels, textural noise, and low polygon figuration, drawing inspiration from the evolution of computer graphics and the human connection to the passing of time.

Ugo's artistic practice centers on the exploration of the present moment through art, filtering life experiences through the lens of digital reality and reflecting them back to the world. His work emphasizes the importance of embracing both the effortless and the imperfect, often employing generous layers of paint to convey the passage of time. The artist's "Daily" series, initiated in 2023, marks a significant breakthrough in his career, showcasing not only his expanded technical repertoire but also garnering recognition within the institutional art world.

Ugo Nonis has exhibited his work at several prestigious galleries, including 7811 Gallery and De Re Gallery in Los Angeles, Oliver Cole Gallery in Miami, and James Oliver Gallery in Philadelphia. His paintings are held in various private national and international collections. Ugo has also participated in notable art fairs such as the Palm Beach Art Fair, Art Wynwood, Art Miami, and the Austin City Art Fair, all in the United States, further cementing his position in the contemporary art scene.
